Ex-Google sustainability strategist joins Standard Chartered

Financial services company Standard Chartered has announced the hire of Kerry Constabile, a former sustainability strategist at Google. At Google, Constabile was actively involved in designing the technology company’s net-zero plans as well as its carbon-removal strategies and investments. According to Standard Chartered, Constabile will lead its emerging markets-focused sustainability strategy and will oversee the bank’s approach towards Scope1, 2 and 3 emissions planning and reporting. Constabile, who has managed climate initiatives at the UN under secretaries-general Ban Ki-moon and António Guterres, commented: “I’ve always admired Standard Chartered’s leadership in sustainable finance in emerging markets and its commitment to mobilise US$300bn by 2030 for green and transition financing. The bank’s unique global footprint put Standard Chartered in a ground-breaking leadership position to accelerate the net-zero transition at the speed and scale the world needs. I am thrilled to join this critical work.”
