French firm to build 17 net zero factories across China

A French multinational has reportedly won one of the biggest net zero manufacturing contracts in China ever, according to reports across Asia.

Schneider Electric, was has reportedly been active in China since 1987, has been awarded contracts to build 15 so-called 'green' factories.

The massive project, awarded by China's Ministry of Industry and Information, also includes the development of 17 'net zero factories'. Financial details were not reported.

The current Chinese government has made ambitious climate pledges, aiming to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
