Qantas Super invests A$2bn in sustainable listed equities
Qantas Super, an Australian corporate pension fund, has announced a A$2bn investment in sustainable listed equities. According to Qantas Super, the fund has partnered with investment managers Calvert Research and Management and Goldman Sachs Asset Management, with the A$2bn allocation split equally. It added: “These partnerships are part of a range of sustainable investment measures that Qantas Super has undertaken, such as excluding manufacturers of cluster munitions and anti-personnel mine whole-weapon systems; joining the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors to influence and engage with companies on ESG issues; excluding tobacco manufacturers from the portfolio; and implementing an Impact Investing Framework in 2020.” The fund had previously announced a goal of net-zero emissions across its investment portfolio by 2050.
