‘Sustainability law firm’ shows focus on UN SDGs in first impact report

Hong Kong-based law firm Ben McQuhae has revealed details about recently accepted mandates. 

The firm, which styles itself as ESG-focused and committed to meeting the targets of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, disclosed the results of its selective mandate process.

The firm accepted 19 positively SDG aligned mandates in its first year of business, took on four neutrally aligned mandates and rejected a mandate for being assessed as failing to match UN SDG targets.

Areas that Ben McQuhae worked on in its first year included assisting clients in navigating emerging ESG regulatory and policy developments, developing appropriate governance structures, and advising on ESG compliance.

Paul Watchman, credited with coining the term ‘ESG’ and a speaker at the Net Zero Investor conference, joined Ben McQuhae in November 2022.
