Ireland’s government says it aims to transform Ireland into a sustainable finance hub

Seán Fleming TD, Ireland’s minister of state at the department of finance has released the “Ireland for Finance Progress Report 2021”. The report provides an overview of the government’s approach to Ireland’s financial services sector. One of the key takeaways from the progress report was the launch of Ireland’s national sustainable finance roadmap. According to the statement, the government is aiming to transform Ireland into a leading European sustainable finance centre. Minister Fleming said, “in order to aid Ireland’s ambition as a sustainable finance hub, I was delighted to see the launch of Ireland’s Sustainable Finance Roadmap during Climate Finance Week 2021. The Roadmap will guide activities in this important area with initiatives aimed at developing the necessary skills of the future workforce, establishing an innovation programme, and creating a Sustainable Finance Fintech Strategy”.
