AXA Climate expands service for asset managers

AXA Climate has made updates to its Altitude platform which are aimed at providing private equity investors with a more comprehensive assessment of climate, carbon and nature related risks, the company said today.

According to AXA, the move is in response to the increasing importance of climate change issues in the financial sector, and the Altitude platform will look to allow asset management companies to gain a clearer understanding of the climate risks for both an existing portfolio and during pre-acquisition.

With the new functionality, companies can obtain a consolidated view of ESG risks at both fund and portfolio level, potentially helping them meet key reporting requirements from regulators and institutional investors.

Antoine Denoix, chief executive of AXA Climate, said: “Private equity will be a powerful lever for transitioning to a more sustainable economy. With Altitude, we are giving them the means to strengthen the fight against climate change and biodiversity loss.”

In February this year AXA IM confirmed that Nigel Topping, a policy adviser and former Climate Champion for COP26, will provide the firm with advice on climate and share his expertise and insights on a range of topics, including macroeconomics, climate change, biodiversity and natural resources.
