Maria Nazarova-Doyle joins Australian private markets investor

Maria Nazarova-Doyle has joined Australian private markets investor IFM as executive director to lead the firm’s Global Sustainable Investment team.

Nazarova-Doyle joins from Scottish Widows, where she has spent almost four years building a responsible investment and stewardship team for the Life Insurance and Pensions provider and establishing the firm’s net zero investment approach.

In her new role, Nazarova-Doyle will lead IFM’s global sustainable investment team, reporting to IFM’s chief strategy officer, Luba Nikulina.

Based in London,  she remains a board member of the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association (UKSIF).

Melbourne-headquartered private markets investor IFM describes itself as “a global investment manager owned by Australian pension funds." It is owned by 17 Australian pension funds including Australian Super, Hesta, Australian Retirement Trust and First Super.

“With the unique position on the cusp between an asset owner and an asset manager, IFM Investors really understand systemic risks and work shoulder to shoulder and in alignment with its pension fund owners and clients to invest in what matters” said Nazarova-Doyle in a social media post announcing her appointment.

IFM holds a portfolio of private market assets including investments in $79 billion infrastructure as well as private debt and private equity investments.
